Beginning June 1, 2010, you must possess a Glendale Public Library card and bring it with you in order to check out materials, use the computers or use WiFi. The bright yellow Internet Access cards will no longer be honored.
Getting a Library Card
If you do not have a Glendale Public Library card, you must provide valid photo identification and something with your name and current address, even if you had an Internet Access card. You must reside within the city limits of Glendale to obtain a free library card. If you have an Internet Access card, please bring it with you when applying for a library card.
Nonresident Fee
It is very common to have a Glendale mailing address but reside outside the actual city limits. If you do not reside within city limits, you will need to pay a Nonresident Fee to obtain a library card. Read more about the Nonresident Fee here.
If you have a card
If you already have a library card, not a bright yellow Internet Access card, you MUST bring it with you to the library in order to check out materials, place items on hold or use the computers. If you have lost your card, there is a $2.00 charge to replace it and you must provide identification.
Fines and Fees
Your library account is blocked if you owe more than $10 in fines and fees. This will keep you from checking out or renewing items, placing holds and using the computers. You can pay your fines and fees with a credit or debit card over the telephone (623-930-3530, Press 4) or at any SelfCheck machine, or in cash at the checkout desk at any branch.
