The Glendale Adult Center offers tremendous benefits to those adults who participate and attend the specialized Glendale Parks & Recreation facility. The center welcomes everyone 18 years and older. As people age, it is important to keep the body healthy and the mind strong. The center’s programs and specialized rooms offer an abundance of opportunities to learn, socialize with others, have fun, exercise and be part of the community.
The center’s fitness programs include the fitness center with treadmills, stationary bicycles, weights and strength-training machines. Also available are exercise classes and programs including low impact aerobics and chair fitness where the participants sit in a chair and use free weights and bands to increase their strength. An excellent way to stay fit and meet great people is through one of the centers great dance classes. Belly dance and line dance classes are offered and every Saturday an evening dance is held to show off your skills and socialize.
A nutritious and tasty lunch program is held every day, free blood pressure checks are held once a month and a variety of social services such as diabetes education sessions, Medicare benefits assistance programs and more offered throughout the year.
