Glendale’s Centennial Plein Air Competition at the Glendale Chocolate Affaire
The city’s Library & Arts Department, in collaboration with the Marketing/Communications Department, sponsored the 2010 Glendale Centennial Plein Air Painting Event at the Glendale Chocolate Affaire. It was held during the popular festival in downtown Glendale, on Saturday, Feb. 6, and included entries from artists who paint utilizing the Plein (open) air technique in oil, watercolor, acrylic or pastel. The awards were categorized by elements of Glendale’s history, in recognition of the Centennial. The winning entries became part of Glendale’s permanent collection upon completion of the event. There were 26 entries and 72 canvases given out to the artists.
