Citrus Zestival
Saturday, January 24
Free admission! Celebrate Sahuaro Ranch’s historic grapefruit and orange trees and all things citrus! Enjoy citrus-themed entertainment, cooking demonstrations, exhibits, tours and special citrus activities — plus, pick some citrus to take home! It happens 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., January 24, at the Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area, 9802 N. 59th Ave. Refreshments will be available at a nominal cost. For more information, call 623-930-4200.
Join us from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for the Civic Pride's Community Breakfast before the Citrus Zestival. The breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Breakfast tickets can be purchased by calling 623-487-8787.

Family Fishing Clinic - Saturday, February 21
Free admission! Catch some fish at Bonsal Park Lake, 59th Ave. and Bethany Home Rd., February 21, 7 to 10 a.m. Cosponsored by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, this event offers instruction on how to “snag the big one,” bait hooks and information about fish. Bring your fishing pole, a container to take home your catch and something to sit on. A limited supply of rods and bait are available on a first come, first served basis. A fishing license is not needed during this event; however, if you continue to fish after the clinic, you must follow Arizona laws and regulations. Register at the Game and Fish booth the morning of the event. Call 623-930-4701, for more information.

9th Annual
Touch-A-Truck - Saturday, February 28
Free admission! Trucks and large vehicles take center stage 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., February 28, at Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Ave. This unique event is a wonderful opportunity for families to see, touch, interact with and learn about these vehicles and their functions. Bring your camera to get those special shots of your child sitting in the driver’s seat of an 18 wheeler. Souvenirs and refreshments will be available for purchase. Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival - March 21 & 22, 2009
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Enjoy over 150 performers with styles ranging from Folk and Bluegrass to Cowboy Poetry and Storytelling at Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area, 9802 N. 59th Ave.
The public is welcome to participate in FREE workshops such as “Guitar Finger Style” and “Songwriter’s Circle” lead by accomplished entertainers. This unique festival will include family entertainment, historic site tours, blacksmith demonstrations, children’s stage and activity area and much more! Food/snacks will be available for purchase. Admission and most activities are free. Whether you come for the music, to see a live blacksmithing demonstration or to learn more about the history of Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area, this festival has something for the entire family to enjoy.
