- NON-PROFIT HELP FOR HEAT RELATED EMERGENCIES: Summer is the worst time of the year to have the AC go out, of course. But for disabled or elderly residents on a fixed income, it’s a terrifying thought. The city of Glendale works with a non-profit partner to assist residents repair or replace air conditioner or evaporative coolers during imperative summer months.
- SWIM LESSONS & WATER SAFETY: As the heat rolls in, we all head to the water. The city of Glendale would like to stress that water safety messaging can never be said often enough. Making sure children learn to swim is a top priority; watching children around water at all times is a necessity; as well as learning CPR. Glendale Parks and Recreation staff and a firefighter can talk about and demonstrate these activities visually.
